inspiring dance workshops 2014
inspiring dance workshops – NAISDA, QL2 and ATYP
In August 2014, the inspiring dance workshops were delivered to NAISDA Dance College students in Kariong NSW for the third year running. The workshops have proven to be a critical component of the NAISDA curriculum for developing the collaborative and choreographic skills of the students. Students explored their own choreographic ideas based on ideas that were the initial sources of inspiration for Tanja liedtke’s work construct. Amelia McQueen led the workshops supported by senior students and NAISDA staff.
In September 2014, the workshops and masterclasses, based again on Tanja’s work were delivered to the young artists engaged in the QL2 Dance program in Canberra. QL2 provides Australian dance graduates with opportunities to develop professional skills and plan their career. Kristina Chan and Amelia McQueen directed these workshops. This is the first time the inspiring dance workshops were delivered at QL2.
Finally, in October 2015, Kristina Chan and Craig Bary returned to the Australian Theatre for Young People in Sydney to conduct a series of workshops with young performers aged 14 to 18. These young performers had had very little experience of dance and dance theatre, however they approached with work with tremendous enthusiasm and some very unique creativity.
